ΤΙΤΛΟΣ ΜΑΘΗΜΑΤΟΣ:English for Academic and Specific Purposes

The course is organized on the basis of students' in-study and postgraduate study needs as well as on the basis of their future occupational needs The aims of this course unit are to enable students to :

  • Use language as an instrument for satisfying immediate communicative needs in academic context on pregraduate or postgraduate study level.
  • Analyze the rhetorical structure of a written passage.
  • Know how to organize a scientific report or a description.
  • Handle formal letter writing of academic or commercial interest and Curriculum Vitae writing.
  • Develop skills and strategies for effective use of language in concrete professional situations.
  • Use language as instrument for business interaction concerning mainly situations where construction, operation and maintainance of machinery and systems are involved.
